You are not what’s happened to you.

Therapy using EMDR for trauma in Denver, Colorado.

Are you tired of “picking” at emotional scabs?

Have you spent years in talk therapy, made progress, but want something deeper?

Do you want to explore core negative beliefs about yourself, and see if they are really yours?

You feel like you are carrying around a backpack full of bricks and don’t know how to take it off. An unexpected noise startles you and you start to feel your body go on full alert and your heart is racing…bracing for something bad to happen. People tell you “you should be fine” or “it happened so long ago” and it feels like your body and brain did not get the memo.

Relationships of all kinds (romantic, friendships, work) are challenging, it’s hard to trust people. You want to feel close so badly, yet feel like there is this barrier between you and the outside world. You are lonely and on edge.

Friends and family ask, “why you can’t let it go” all while not knowing that you have tried everything in your power to do so. It feels like the trauma plays in your mind like a scratched up record. You are tired, yet can’t seem to rest. You feel guilty for “not being normal".”

Let’s work together to…

  • Process and release stuck memories that keep you stuck.

  • Regulate your nervous system so you aren’t always on “high alert.”

  • Empower you to grow and interact with the world in the way that YOU want to.

You can learn to reclaim your life and connect with a brighter future.

How therapy works

You can thrive instead of just surviving.

Trauma therapy isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” process. It is deeply personalized, often integrating multiple approaches to address your unique needs, goals, and circumstances. Over time, you learn to process your trauma in ways that reduce suffering, foster resilience, and promote meaningful connections with others.

Trauma therapy is designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences in a safe, supportive, and structured environment. The approach depends on the individual’s needs and the type of trauma they’ve experienced, but the overall goal is to reduce the emotional and physical symptoms of trauma, improve daily functioning, and promote healing and resilience.

EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms.
