Meet Joan godbolt, LPC

You are ready to feel confident in your own skin.

Person smiling in front of white brick wall, wearing a gray turtleneck sweater.

You’re in the right place.

I’m here to help you.

I have over a decade of experience with clients that struggle with ADHD, trauma and self confidence. More often than not, all 3 are connected. Throughout my career, I’ve completed extensive training in trauma and EMDR, ADHD, and self-confidence, deepening my ability to help clients reconnect with themselves and build a life that feels more aligned. Whether we’re exploring the roots of past experiences, learning how to work with (not against) your brain, or developing practical skills for daily life, our work together is designed to foster both insight and action.

Clients who work with me often describe therapy as a space where they can be their true, unfiltered selves. Sessions might look like diving into deep emotional work, laughing about a relatable ADHD moment, gaining insight into how trauma impacts the brain and body, or practicing coping skills that create lasting change.

When you’re ready to take the next step, I’ll be here to guide and support you. You don’t have to do this alone.

My style

I believe therapy is a collaborative and compassionate process to help you break free, grow and create lasting change.

With over a decade of therapy experience, I have dedicated my career to Trauma and ADHD, and helping people untangle the patterns that no longer serve them. I’m trained in EMDR, DBT, and IFS. I am extensively trained in EMDR and a certified ADHD provider.

I view my role as that of a listener and a guide to help you find a path through the parts of our stories we all want to skip over, and ultimately assist you in moving beyond feeling stuck. Through each session we will work from where you currently find yourself to the place you want to be like confident, grounded and in control of your life.

Together we will find the method that makes the most sense for you. While we tend to think of therapy as serious hard work, which it is undoubtedly, I also believe in the power of humor and use it as often as possible.

My Guiding Principles

Empathy

Healing happens in a space of warmth and understanding. I meet my clients with deep empathy and a nonjudgmental stance, ensuring that you feel truly seen and heard.

Transformation

I work with clients who are ready for change. My role is to help you recognize patterns, shift perspectives, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Authenticity

Therapy is a space for real, honest conversations. I show up as my authentic self, and I invite my clients to do the same.

Curiosity

I approach therapy with curiosity, knowing that every person’s story is unique. Together, we’ll explore what works for you.

Collaboration

You are the expert on your life. My job is to provide guidance, tools, and a safe space for you to explore and make decisions.

Accountability

Support and accountability go hand in hand. I’ll challenge you in ways that promote self-awareness and growth, while empowering you to take charge of your healing.
